Services of North Florida, Inc. (BCS) is an established microbiological testing facility that incorporates a multidisciplinary
team of researchers to assure the highest level of efficiency and reliable
testing processes. We employ the highest standards of quality control and
utilize the most innovative methodologies to assure the accuracy and
reproducibility of our results. We are a full scale molecular microbiology and a
pathogen detection /control research lab. Additionally, we are a full scale
environmental and food pathogen detection facility. We conduct innovative research
and provide our services to local, state, and government agencies as well as to private customers.

BCS TEAM
George Lukasik,
Ph.D. - Laboratory Director
Dr. Lukasik is President and Director of operations of BCS
laboratories in Gainesville, Florida. He started and has been
overseeing operations since 2000. His expertise focuses on microbial source
tracking, with particular emphasis on enteric virus detection.
He has been developing novel and sensitive methodologies for the
detection, quantification, and removal of human viruses and
other relevant pathogens for over 10 years and has been involved in
numerous local, state and federal monitoring projects. His areas of research interest include the development of novel microbial source tracking
methodologies as well as the development and improvement of methods
used for the detection of pathogenic viruses and protozoa in the
environment. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in
Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida.

Troy M. Scott,
Ph.D. - Director of Research
Dr. Scott is owner and Director of Research of BCS Laboratories.
His research interests and expertise focus primarily on
environmental parasitology and fecal source tracking techniques.
Dr. Scott is a principal analyst approved under the EPA LT2
laboratory quality assurance program for the detection of
Cryptosporidium in source waters and has developed novel
molecular techniques for identifying sources of fecal pollution in
environmental waters. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in
Environmental and Molecular Microbiology from the University of
Florida and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Environmental
Parasitology at the University of South Florida and Michigan State
University.

Thierry
Sam Tamers - Senior Business Strategist
Mr. Tamers is president of PaleoScience, Inc. and a director of the Source
Molecular Corporation. His career includes an asset and liabilities manager position with JP
Morgan in Paris, France, and debt and equity managerial functions with Lazard
Frères et Cie and Barings in Paris, France. Thierry Tamers has worked also for
Merrill Lynch in New York City. Mr.
Tamers has extensive international business experience gained as the director of
tropical commodity products for the Geneva based Simap Commodities Group and
Director of Global Reports BV in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Mr. Tamers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Finance (High Honors) from the University of Florida.
