We also conduct innovative research in the field of environmental microbiology and especially in tracking the sources of fecal pollution in environmental samples and the concentration and identification of pathogens from environmental samples. BCS is registered with the State of Florida Department of Health and with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an advanced pathogen detection laboratory. BCS is also registered with the EPA Laboratory Compendium and has collaborated with various government agencies like the Center for Disease Control (CDC), EPA , US Department of Agriculture , US Geological Survey, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Our lab is located in Gainesville , Florida . We are conveniently located near the University of Florida , making transactions easy for customers in North Central Florida. Local customers often take advantage of our sample collection service, in which our trained technician collects samples for testing and transport the samples back to our lab, safely and securely.
However, we regularly accept samples and serve customers outside of our immediate geographic vicinity using a variety of expedited shipping services . We serve both US and international clients. We provide sampling kits and sample collection instructions to the customer, who collects the sample and then sends the sample to our lab for processing. Often, we instruct our customers to use dry ice or ice packs to preserve the sample during shipping to ensure proper testing in our lab.
In addition, some customers elect to use our lab to conduct their own experiments in conjunction to our experties and direction. These customers travel from their home state to our local facility with their samples. We have even built special equipment and facilities on-site to accommodate the needs of the customer.
